Aliwan Fiesta kicks off today

MANILA, Philippines - The public is advised that the northbound lane of Seaside Boulevard from SM Mall of Asia until Macapagal Boulevard corner Gil Puyat (Buendia) Avenue Extension will be closed to traffic from 3:30 p.m. onwards on Saturday, April 24 for the Aliwan Fiesta parade.

The southbound lane of Macapagal Boulevard from EDSA to Gil Puyat (Buendia) Avenue Extension will be opened for two-way vehicular traffic to help ease the flow. 

Over 5,000 delegates from various provinces will take part in this grand cultural showcase being put together by Manila Broadcasting Company and the Cultural Center of the Philippines, in cooperation with the cities of Manila and Pasay. Champion contingents representing a diverse array of fiestas all over the country will vie for the million-peso plum.

Parade will kick off at 4 p.m. behind the SM Mall of Asia enroute to the Aliw Theater outdoor stage at the CCP Complex, where the awarding ceremonies will be held.
