Oreta last man standing for Gibo in Metro
MANILA, Philippines - Despite the continued defection of Lakas-Kampi-CMD mayors to the Liberal and Nacionalista Parties Malabon Mayor Canuto Oreta vowed to stick it out with Lakas-Kampi presidential candidate Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro until the May 10 election.
“ I am all-out for Gibo” the mayor told The STAR in an interview.
Oreta who is running unopposed under the Lakas- Kampi Party is actively campaigning for Gibo in the vote rich city while his nephew Lenlen Oreta the son of former senator Tessie Oreta, and running for vice mayor is campaining for his cousin Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
Oreta said he is committed to campaign for Gibo whom he described as the most competent candidate for the top post of the land. He admitted that the fight for the more than 200,000 votes is now confined to Gibo, former President Joseph Estrada and Noynoy.
In the congressional race Jay Jay Yambao and Ricky Sandoval are both listed as Lakas-Kampi candidates but Yambao said the Lakas-Kampi merger in the city don’t exist any longer.
Other candidates are Arnold Vicencio and Jay Noel Lacson. Yambao was a former mayor of the city.
