MANILA, Philippines - Two women were recently charged in court by the Manila Prosecutor’s Office after they allegedly tried to bribe a policeman.
The two accused were identified as Mary Ann Engraciala, 42, of Geronimo Street, Samapaloc, Manila; and Mary Lord Dulay, 32, of Marcos Street, Malinta, Valenzuela City. They were charged with violation of Article 212 (or Corruption of Public Official) at the Manila Regional Trial Court.
Manila Assistant City Prosecutor Roman Cobrado recommended P20,000 bail each for the temporary release of the two accused.
The case stemmed from the complaint filed by Superintendent Ramon Pranada, Manila Police District (MPD) Sampaloc station commander.
The two accused were arrested by one of Pranada’s men, SP01 Alain Sigua, around 10 a.m. on April 6 inside the Sampaloc police station.
