-

MANILA, Philippines - A barangay administrator was shot dead in front of the Barangay Sto. Domingo barangay hall in Quezon City Saturday afternoon.

Chief Inspector Benjamin Elenzano, homicide investigation chief, said they have yet to establish the motive for the killing.

He said Eduardo Garcia, 62, was washing his Lite Ace van along Don Manuel street in front of the barangay hall when he was shot.

Witness Editha Mabaet told police she was walking along Don Manuel street when she heard two gunshots. When she turned to look, she saw Garcia sprawled on the pavement. She saw the gunman speed away on a red Honda Wave motorcycle with black stripes, driven by a cohort.

Witnesses said the gunman was between 40 and 45 years old, wearing a polo shirt with green stripes and dirty white shorts, and a green cap. – Jerry Botial
