Woman stabbed dead by newly hired maid
MANILA, Philippines - Police are hot on the trail of a housemaid who allegedly stabbed dead her employer yesterday, just two days after she was hired, in Quezon City.
Chief Inspector Benjamin Elenzano, Quezon City Police District homicide investigation chief, identified the victim as Maribeth Aguila, 50, a resident of Dunhill street in Barangay East Fairview.
Elenzano said the maid, identified only as “Rose,” reportedly of Barangay Gulay, Lopez, Quezon province, is at large.
Aguila’s family told authorities the victim’s two cell phones and an undetermined amount of money were missing.
Aguilar’s mother, Josefina Pisang, went to her daughter’s house and found her daughter’s body, which had a 14-inch bolo still stuck in it.
A day before Aguilar was killed, her husband allegedly hired the maid to work for them.
Police said the victim sustained several stab wounds in the body.
Pisang told investigators later she did not see the housemaid anywhere in the house and might have been responsible for the killing.
Pisang said her daughter’s two cell phones and an undetermined amount of cash were also missing.
