BI nabs 2 Chinese nationals for fake passports

-

MANILA, Philippines - Bureau of Immigration (BI) officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 intercepted Monday two Chinese men bound for Vancouver, Canada for allegedly carrying fake Singaporean passports.

BI airport operations chief Ferdinand Sampol reported to Commissioner Marcelino Libanan that Jeremy Lim Chee Siong and Jimmy Ong Lai Heng presented altered Singaporean passports and travel documents when they arrived in the country as transit passengers.

He said Singaporean national Joanna Lee May Lin, also a transit passenger bound for Vancouver, reportedly helped the two Chinese men. Lim, Ong and Lee were brought to the BI’s intelligence unit and will be brought to the BI jail in Bicutan, Taguig City if they are found guilty of falsifying documents, Sampol said.                                 – Rudy Santos
