Aviation executives arrive in RP for Asean airport meet

MANILA, Philippines - At least 70 aviation industry officials arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) yesterday to attend the 28th Association of Southeast Asian Nations International Airports Association (AAA) Conference at the Sofitel hotel from today until Feb. 26.

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Alfonso Cusi, assistant general manager for airport development and corporate affairs Tirso Serrano, and NAIA Terminal 1 manager Octavio Lina will host the conference.

 Aside from the Philippines, the members of the AAA are Brunai Darussalam, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and Vietnam.

Serrano said among the topics that will be discussed during the conference are airport security and developing cooperation among ASEAN international airports.

The conference is held by top international airport authorities every five years. – Rudy Santos
