Money express company robbed
MANILA, Philippines - A money express company was robbed of an undetermined amount of cash by an armed male suspect early evening Friday in Las Piñas City.
Police Officer 3 Ariel Gupana of the Las Piñas Police Investigation Division, said the Western Union located along Alabang-Zapote Road, corner Verdant Acres Subdivision in Barangay Pamplona 3 in Las Piñas City, was robbed by an unidentified male around 6 p.m.
Gupana said the supervisor of the said Western Union branch, Irene Atanacio, 26, single, was alone attending to clients when the suspect entered the office around 1 p.m. The police said the suspect armed with a short firearm, pretended to be waiting for money that would reportedly be sent by a relative.
When after five hours, Atanacio went near the cash vault, the suspect followed and using the gun, hit the victim on the face and the head.
The suspect immediately escaped bringing with him an undetermined amount of cash including dollar bills.
Atanacio afterwards shouted for help and employees of a nearby pawnshop came and brought her to the Perpetual Help Hospital. – Rhodina Villanueva
