4 vehicles collide along SLEX

MANILA, Philippines - Four vehicles figured in an accident along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Muntinlupa City yesterday morning.

Orly Lanuza, Philippine National Construction Corp. radio operator, said the accident happened at about 10:49 a.m. along SLEX in Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City.

Initial investigation showed that a Tamaraw FX (TKC-479) was cruising along the southbound lane of SLEX when one of its tires burst.

The driver had to bring the vehicle to the road shoulder but while he was inching his way to the side, an Isuzu Elf truck (XJP-187) hit the FX.

The truck was rear-ended by a Mitsubishi Adventure (ZGF-253) trailing it, and the sport utility vehicle was in turn hit by a passenger bus (NXU-687).

Lanuza said that fortunately, no one was injured and the smashup did not really impede the flow of traffic in the area since the accident happened in the outermost lane. – Rhodina Villanueva
