MANILA, Philippines - Homicide probers of the Quezon City Police District are now investigating the killing of a security guard who was found dead near a would-be police station in Fairview yesterday.
The victim has been identified as Sherwin Salera, 36, a native of Abuyog, Leyte and a resident of No. 049 Everlasting Street, Payatas-A, Quezon City. His body was found at around 2:10 a.m. at the flag pole area of a QCPD Station that was being erected along Pearl Street in Barangay Fairview.
Witness Jeramil Nunez, an electrician, told investigators that he saw victim lying on the ground as he was looking down from the second floor of the building being constructed. When he went down and checked, he said the victim was already dead, had a wound in the forehead, and there was blood oozing from the back of his head.
Chief Inspector Benjamin Elenzano, chief of the QCPD – Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit Homicide Division, said the wounds “raise suspicion that somebody struck him.”
“We will depend on the result of the autopsy,” he told The STAR.
