MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will hold a soft opening today for a new building along Macapagal Avenue in Parañaque City that will house its consular services unit.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo and Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) chair Patricia Sto. Tomas will be at the new DFA-Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) building.
The DFA said the new building will be fully operational early this year.
The OCA began relocating some of its facilities to the new state-of-the-art building at the corner of Bradco and Macapagal Avenues in Aseana Business Park, a few minutes away from the Mall of Asia.
The OCA building is equipped with fiber-optic lines, surveillance cameras and other high-tech communications infrastructure.
For the time being and until further notice, the consular services requirements of the public will continue to be attended to at the DFA’s existing consular facilities. – Pia Lee-Brago
