334 aliens pinigilan ng Immigration

MANILA, Philippines - Hinarang ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang kabuuang 334 dayuhan na makapasok sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) noong nakaraang taon dahil sa kakulangan o kaduda-dudang travel documents.

Sinabi ni Bureau of Immigration (BI) airport operations division chief Ferdinand Sampol na ang mga pinigilang dayuhan ay mga improperly documented aliens at hindi kabilang ang mga pinabalik sa ibang kadahilanan tulad ng pagkakasama sa BI blacklist o watchlist.

“Foreign passengers may be considered improperly documented for various reasons, foremost of which are not having the required entry visa and failure to procure return tickets,” wika ni Sampol.

Ang ulat ukol dito ay isu­sumite kay Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan.

Dagdag pa ni Sampol, dahil sa pagdadala ng 334 improperly documented aliens sa bansa, pinagmulta ang 22 airline companies ng P50,000 bawat pasahero o kabuuang P17.2 million. 

“The tight screening of arriving foreigners at the NAIA was in compliance with the instructions of Commissioner Libanan for immigration officers at the ports of entry to always be on the highest state of alert,” paliwanag ni Sampol.

Ang mga pinigilang aliens ay inilagay sa immigration blacklist upang hindi na makapasok pa sa Pilipinas.

Batay sa mga nakalipas na record, pinakamaraming dayu­han na kulang ang dokumento ay sakay ng Cathay Pacific.
