2 drug suspects nabbed in front of Taguig school

MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested two suspected drug pushers in front of a school in Taguig City yesterday morning.                

The suspects were identified as Hamsa Lampay, 25, a native of Maguindanao and resident of Barangay New Lower Bicutan; and Kalid Dacambayan, 18, also a native of Maguindanao and a resident of Barangay Upper Bicutan.                

Senior Superintendent Camilo Cascolan, Taguig police chief, said they received a tip that the suspects will hold drug deals in front of the Silangan Elementary School in Barangay Upper Bicutan at around 11 a.m.                

He said he ordered a team from the police station to proceed to the area and arrest the suspects, who yielded two sachets of shabu.                

Lampay and Dacambayan are being detained at the police station. Cascolan said a case of the suspects will be charged with drug pushing.  – Rhodina Villanueva
