MANILA, Philippines - A 16-year-old boy, hanging out with friends, was stabbed dead by another group of teenagers in Caloocan City Sunday night.
Police Officer 2 Felipe Woo of the city police station investigation unit identified the victim as Darwin Duran, a resident of 10th Avenue East, Caloocan City.
Woo said the victim was declared dead on arrival at the Our Lady Of Grace Hospital because of stab wounds in the body and arms at around 8 p.m.
Duran was reportedly talking to his friends, one identified as Julio Domingo, along 10th Avenue when at least eight youngsters passed by the victim’s group. Domingo told police that for no apparent reason, one of the teenagers armed with a knife and a pen gun, attacked Duran. Domingo said he and his group fled during the fight and sought help from their other friends in the area.
When Domingo and his group returned, Duran was already slumped on the pavement with stab wounds. The suspects were all gone.
Duran’s friends rushed him to the Our Lady of Grace Hospital for treatment but he died along the way because of his wounds.
