MANILA, Philippines - A grocery store helper on his way to a bank to deposit P280,000 was shot and robbed in Valenzuela City Wednesday afternoon.
Boyet Aparil, 22, a grocery store helper in Barangay Malinta, suffered a bullet wound in the shoulder and is still confined at the Valenzuela General Hospital.
Aparil lost P280,000 cash to at least six armed men who were riding three motorcycles.
Senior Police Officer 2 Richie Garcia said that at around 1:15 p.m., Aparil was sent by his boss, Atanacio Santiago, to deposit their store earnings at a nearby bank.
Aparil was walking along Tangke street carrying a bag containing P280,000, when men in three motorcycles blocked his path.
One of them grabbed Aparil’s bag, but the victim put up a fight. Another suspect pulled a handgun and shot Aparil once. The suspects fled with the bag containing the money.
