Heavy traffic today as Lim's party to hold meet at Bonifacio Shrine

MANILA, Philippines – The Kapayapaan, Katarungan, Kaunlaran (KKK) party, founded by Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim in 1997, will hold its national convention at the Bonifacio Shrine today at 3 p.m.

Lim is set to deliver the keynote speech to 60,000 members who are expected to attend.

The Manila Police District (MPD) said the parking for VIPs will be along Munoz Palma street from A. Villegas to P. Burgos street.

The parking for 20 buses to ferry the party members will be at the Mehan Garden/Manila Library and the parking for light vehicles will be at the Veterans Compound. The formation will be held at 2 p.m. at N.A. Lopez and P. Burgos Streets.

All motorists coming from Victoria or Intramuros intending to use a portion of A. Lopez, east bound, should turn left on P. Burgos (north bound) from A. Villegas to P. Burgos. All motorists coming from A. Lopez and A. Villegas intending to use a portion of P. Burgos (westbound) should turn right on Villegas to the point of destination.

The area will be cleared of all obstructions at 2 p.m. and manned by traffic enforcers.

From 3 p.m. onwards, the two lanes of P. Burgos (fronting the Bonifacio Shrine) from N.A. Lopez up to Munoz Palma and the entire stretch of both lanes of N.A. Lopez (from Villegas to P. Burgos) will be closed to traffic.

The party will proclaim the candidates under the Liberal Party-KKK coalition with Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and Sen. Manuel Roxas II as presidential and vice presidential candidates.

Its candidates for Manila are Lim for mayor and Isko Moreno as vice mayor. – Sandy Araneta
