Malabon's most wanted arrested

MANILA, Philippines - Malabon City’s “most wanted” fugitive, who has at least four arrest warrants to his name, was arrested Friday night.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Roberto Villanueva said Noelito Hugo, alias “Palos,” 26, a resident of Barangay Tonsuya, is wanted for murder, robbery with violence and two counts of robbery.

 “This man operates alone, and most of his victims were jeepney passengers but… would not hesitate to kill once the victim puts up a fight,” Villanueva told The STAR.

Villanueva said it took them almost a month of surveillance before his men were able to apprehend Hugo at around 10 p.m. in Sitio Gulayan, a slum area in Barangay Catmon.

Villanueva said Hugo is also linked to a series of highway robberies along Letre and C-4 roads.   – Pete Laude
