Parañaque policeman honored

-

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Police yesterday honored the Parañaque City policeman who returned a vacationing  seaman’s wallet and money he found inside a taxi cab.

In yesterday’s flag-raising at Camp Crame, PNP chief Director General Jesus Versoza pinned the “Medalya ng Kasanayan” on Police Officer 1 Jimmy Reginaldo. Reginaldo, 37, assigned at the investigation section of the Parañaque city police office, found the wallet inside a cab he boarded near Baclaran Church Friday night. Aside from P10,000 and $100 in cash, the wallet also contained several identification cards and documents.

Based on the documents, Reginaldo was able to contact the wallet’s owner,  Jessie Tinguel. Reginaldo said he was able to contact Tinguel Monday after he personally went to the address written on the seaman’s tax identification number card. The address turned out to be a house in Dasmariñas, Cavite owned by Tinguel’s father. Tinguel arrived from Seattle last month to spend vacation  in the Philippines. – Mike Frialde
