MANILA, Philippines - A bank supervisor was shot when he fought three men who forcibly took his motorcycle, killing one of them, in Quezon City at past midnight yesterday.
Manuel Ledesma, 30, a resident of Payatas, was taken to the East Avenue Medical Center for a gunshot wound in the back, said Police Officer 3 Joselito Gonzaga.
Police said the incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. in Lupang Pangako. Ledesma was driving his XRM Honda motorcycle when three men blocked his way.
At gunpoint, the suspects took his motorcycle but Ledesma managed to grab the suspect’s gun and shoot him.
Ledesma tried to run away but one of the two remaining suspects shot him in the back. As he fell, the two other suspects boarded the motorcycle and sped off.
The suspect was later identified as Joel Cho, who was found carrying an improvised knife and a fan knife. – Reinir Padua
