MANILA, Philippines - Policemen found the body of a suspected robber along Tripa de Galina Street in Pasay City Monday night.
Senior Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, Pasay police chief, identified the victim as Roberto Tubig, 38, married, jobless and a resident of Central Park Condominium.
Petrasanta said a concerned citizen called up the police station and asked that policemen be sent to the area to check on a dead body.
A team led by Police Officer 2 Giovanni Arcinue found Tubig lying on the street with three gunshot wounds in his back.
Barangay kagawad Teresita Lazaro of Barangay 130, Zone 13, told police that she heard someone fire a gun repeatedly while she was about to close her store.
She later saw a man lying on the ground and another one standing over him. Lazaro described the latter as medium-built, about 5’7” tall and wearing a white t-shirt.
Petrasanta said the suspect could be one of Tubig’s victims. A follow-up investigation is being conducted to track down Tubig’s killer. – Rhodina Villanueva
