MANILA, Philippines - Seven of 13 inmates who bolted from a police jail in Caloocan during a heavy downpour shortly after midnight Tuesday were recaptured less than 24 hours after escaping.
Northern Police District (NPD) director Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao Jr. identified five of the recaptured escapees as Pedro Ramos, 28; Rolando Hernandez, 20; Noli Paredes, 18; Judemar Jordan, 29; and Ryan Francillo, 23.

The seven have been detained at the Caloocan City Police headquarters’ holding center.
Pagdilao directed city police chief Senior Superintendent Jude Wilson Santos to improve the jail facility of the North Caloocan City Police Station’s Police Community Precinct 16 to prevent similar incidents.
Pagdilao assured the families of the remaining fugitives that no harm will befall them if they surrender. The police are still searching for escaped detainees Aldin Buesa, Rodel Abad, Rolando Lozada, Jonathan Brit, Ralph Magtangob, and Felix Valenzuela. – Jerry Botial
