4 arrested in Manila anti-crime operations
MANILA, Philippines - Police nabbed four persons, including two minors, in a series of anti-crime operations in Tondo, Manila Friday.
Raxabago, Tondo police station chief Superintendent Roderick Mariano identified Ronaldo Bonifacio, 26, a Commando gang member, and Alexander Dimalanta, 19, a Sputnik gang member, as two of the most notorious Tondo hoodlums who victimized jeepney passengers along Juan Luna and Trinidad streets.
“The suspects were armed with guns and knives and preyed on hapless jeepney commuters at night,”Mariano said. Two victims had already identified the two suspects as the persons who held them up, according to Mariano.
Meanwhile, two 17-year-old out-of-school youths were arrested for robbing the house of Arturo Adriano, 34, while he was out attending to his business.
Recovered from the suspects were a video camera, a digital camera, assorted DVD players, assorted men’s clothings and three pairs of shoes totaling P103,000. Mariano said the youths will be turned over to the local welfare office.
