Doctor who did butt job no longer with Belo group
MANILA, Philippines - The Belo Medical Group (BMG) said yesterday the doctor who performed the butt implant surgery on a businesswoman, who claims her infection was caused by the hydrogel implant, is no longer with the clinic.
According to reports, Josefina Norcio, 40, has been in and out of the hospital since May 10. Doctors have been draining pus and hydrogel from her buttocks.
She has filed a malpractice suit against BMG before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), claiming the two buttock augmentation procedures she underwent in 2003 and 2005 nearly killed her.
BMG official Leah Salterio said Norcio’s attending physician was Dr. Francis Decangchon.
The BMG said “the lapse of time and the supervening events that may have occurred after her surgery make it difficult to make any judgment on her medical status.”
The NBI said it is now trying to trace Decangchon’s whereabouts “to question him about the procedure.”
Head Agent Ross Bautista said BMG medical director Dr. Vicki Belo interviewed and conducted a medical assessment on Norcio, while Decangchon performed the surgery.
“But I was told that there are others who performed another procedure on her so we have to see,” he said.
Reports, however, have it that Decangchon is the medical-surgical director of the Aescultura beauty and cosmetics clinic, which claims to have actors Troy Montero and Bobby Andrews among its prominent clients.
