Malabon robbers shoot 2 women
MANILA, Philippines - Robber shot and wounded a businesswoman and her daughter outside the victims’ house last Saturday night in Malabon.
Police identified the victims as Ofelia Bautista, 54, and Bernadette Bautista-Madrid, 33, of Don Basilio Bautista Blvd. in Barangay Hulong Duhat.
The elder woman suffered a gunshot wound in her back while her daughter was hit in the neck. They were both treated at the Manila Central University Hospital.
Police Officer 3 Robert Miclat, Malabon police investigator, said the robbery and shooting incidents occurred just outside the victims’ house at around 6:45 p.m.
The victims have just arrived onboard their jeep with license plates PAG 193, which was driven by Ofelia’s husband Basilio.
Another daughter Mylene Bautista-Stevens was also on board when two robbers armed with handguns suddenly appeared at the gate of the victims’ house.
The suspects took the victims’ bags and valuables.
One of the robbers shot Bernadette who resisted. The bullet went through Bernadette’s neck and also hit her mother.
The robbers escaped onboard a motorcycle that was parked a few feet away from the victims’ gate and sped off towards Barangay Dampalit.
Chief Inspector Redyie Aldueso, Police Community Precinct-5 commander, said the robbers took P35,000 cash and two cellular telephones.
