3 tons of 'hot' pork seized in Balintawak
MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested two vendors and seized around three tons of double-dead pork from stalls at the MC Market in Balintawak, Quezon City yesterday.
Chief Inspector Ritchie Claravall, head of the Quezon City Police District’s City Hall Complex Police Office, said Pedro Soriano and Juanito Trinidad were “monitored by our intelligence operatives prior to the confiscation of the products. Now we have videos taken that caught the vendors in the act of selling these hot meat products.”
Claravall said policemen found some of the hot meat hidden in legitimate stalls at the market.
Claravall said the confiscated meat was turned to the City Health Department and set to be burned and buried in the Payatas area. – Reinir Padua
