Bureau of Immigration blacklists American for abusing Pinay wife

MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has banned an American man from entering the country for maltreating and abusing her Filipina wife.

Timothy Kent Boggess, 42, has been placed on the immigration blacklist order following a request made by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

BI Commissioner Marcelino Libanan said Boggess is the subject of a domestic violence complaint filed by his Filipina wife.

Libanan said Boggess, who resides in Florissant, Missouri, should be banned from re-entering the country to prevent him from victimizing other Filipino women.

In her affidavit, the victim requested that her husband be banned from the Philippines for causing her physical and emotional abuse.

According to Libanan, the woman claimed her estranged husband was hooked on drugs and pornography and that he had an affair with another woman after they got married.

Citing an offense report from the Florissant police department, which the victim submitted, the BI said the woman claimed that her husband allegedly assaulted her at their home last Nov. 23.

The woman said she suffered bruises on her ankle after her husband dragged her out of the computer room for using his computer without permission, Libanan said.

The BI also said the DFA has issued a circular directing all Philippine posts abroad not to issue any visa in favor of Boggess. – Helen Flores
