MANILA, Philippines – Police arrested four alleged members of a motorcycle theft syndicate operating in eastern Metro Manila yesterday.
Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superintendent Lino Calingasan said a witness saw drivers Alexander Duran, 25; Jinno Labang, 21; Claro Banares, 42, and Bryan de la Torre stealing a Kawasaki HD 111 125 owned by Felicisima Ortega along N. Cruz street in Barangay Palatiw.
Ortega identified the stolen motorcycle as hers.
The four suspects admitted they were behind the rash of motorcycle robberies in eastern Metro Manila, police said.
Calingasan appealed to owners of stolen motorcycles to surface and identify the suspects so additional charges would be filed against them.
The suspects are currently detained at the Pasig City police detention center. – Non Alquitran
