Cop tracks down burglars who broke into his house

-

MANILA, Philippines - A Manila policeman arrested three members of the “Akyat-Bahay” gang who burglarized his house in Tondo.

In his report to Raxabago, Tondo police station commander Superintendent Ernesto Tendero Jr., Police Officer 3 Rommel Rey said he learned from his father that burglars broke into their house and took away a PlayStation worth P15,000 and a cellular phone worth P12,000.

Using his informants, Rey learned the suspects in the burglary were Regie Mayordomo, 22; his brother Raymond, 19; and Raymart Gana, 18. Together with barangay officials, Rey arrested Raymond at his residence in Capulong, Tondo. Raymond then led Rey to the safehouse of his gang.

During interrogation, the three suspects led policemen to their fence, where only the PlayStation was recovered.

Tendero said further investigation revealed that the suspects were also responsible for two previous heists perpetrated on Tondo residents, who lost cash and valuables worth P8,000.

Robbery charges were filed against the three suspects.   – Nestor Etolle
