Parañaque lawmaker's sister arrested for estafa

MANILA, Philippines - The younger sister of Parañaque Rep. Eduardo Zialcita was arrested by elements of the Las Piñas police for an estafa case filed last year.

Concepcion Zialcita-Trinos was arrested by a team from the Warrant Section of the Las Piñas Police Tuesday afternoon. The arrest stemmed from a case filed by Dr. Edelyn Cariño reportedly engaged in a transaction with Trinos but the check the latter reportedly issued had no funds.

Senior Superintendent Amando Clifton Empiso, Las Piñas police chief, though, said Trinos can post bail amounting to P60,000. “The posting of bail is now being processed and that anytime now, Trinos can already be sent out of jail,” he said.

Trinos reportedly spent Tuesday night at the detention cell of the Las Piñas City Police Station following her arrest. – Rhodina Villanueva
