MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested a 19-year-old motorist for reckless driving after his speeding car rammed four other vehicles along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City yesterday morning.
Hussein Santos of Filinvest 1 in Barangay Batasan Hills is also facing slight physical injury charges after a passenger was injured in the incident, which happened at around 4 a.m.
Traffic enforcer and investigator aide Crisanto Gragasin said Santos, driving a gray Honda Civic (ZPV-508) was allegedly cruising along the northbound lane of Commonwealth Avenue near the Sandiganbayan Centennial Building when his vehicle rammed two Toyota Corollas (TWL-757 and PYE-209); a Toyota sedan (ZGE-979) and a Mazda 323 (WDR-212).
He said a passenger of the fourth vehicle was slightly hurt in the early morning mishap along one of Quezon City’s busiest and widest thoroughfares.
Gragasin said traffic investigators led by Senior Police Officer 3 Nelson Apostol are conducting further investigation of the incident.
He said Santos was not jailed since he was able to present complete vehicle registration documents and his offense, despite a slight physical injury charge, mainly involves damage to property. – Michael Punongbayan
