DFA provides 1,000 passports to Caloocan residents
MANILA, Philippines - At least 1,000 Caloocan City residents secured machine-readable passports (MRPs) through the Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) mobile passport service, city officials said yesterday.
Mayor Enrico Echiverri said the service was made available not only to residents but also to those from neighboring cities.
Luchi Flores, Caloocan City civil registrar and DFA-local government unit coordinator, said the service saved applicants money and time.
Flores said this is the second time the city government and the DFA conducted the mobile services for machine-readable passports in Caloocan City. Last August, at least 1,000 applicants in Caloocan City also benefited from the DFA mobile passport project. – Pete Laude
