MANILA, Philippines - Three alleged members of the Akyat-Bahay gang including a 19-year-old female student who tried to rob a condominium unit in Pasay City early morning of Good Friday, were arrested by the police.

Senior Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, Pasay police chief, identified the suspects as Anthony Trestiza, 36, single, jobless, of No. 618 J. Isidro Street, Pasay City; Ferdinand Decena, 36, single, jobless, of Laging Handa Street, Villaruel, Pasay City; and Jannalyn Lagnas, 19, single, student, of Blk 19, Purok 5, Gordon Heights, Olongapo City.

Petrasanta said that it was Sherwin Tagao of Bahaghari Security Agency, guard-on-duty at the Park Avenue Mansion located at Park Avenue corner Ignacio Street, who chanced upon the suspects trying to get inside Unit 1524 located at the 15th floor of the condominium building, at about 1:30 a.m.

Tagao immediately asked help from his colleagues who immediately called up the police.

A team led by Senior Police Officer 2 Christian Marquez proceeded to the area and apprehended the three suspects.

Petrasanta said the group was already able to destroy the padlock and doorknob using an improvised pointed object when the police arrived.

The unit’s occupant identified as Concepcion Lacsamana, 56, was on vacation in the province when the suspects tried to rob her place.
