Geodetic engineer killed in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines - Police launched a manhunt for two unidentified men who shot dead a geodetic engineer in Quezon City Saturday afternoon.

Homicide probers of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said two men drove by in a passenger jeepney just as Benjamin Ferrer, 65, was loading some personal belongings into his Starex van in front of his house in Barangay Greater Lagro since he was preparing for a vacation in Las Pinas.

One of the suspects allegedly approached Ferrer from behind and shot him once in the back of the head at around 5 p.m. before making a quick getaway, police said.

Police Officer 3 Edwin dela Cruz said investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the killing. – Michael Punongbayan
