Tondo robbery suspects nabbed

-

MANILA, Philippines - Police nabbed two men who allegedly robbed jeepney passengers in Tondo, Manila last night.

Jimmy Boy Gonzales, 28, a Batang City Jail gang member, and Jemel Reyes, 20, a Sigue-Sigue Sputnik gang member, were included in the police’s order of battle after they were linked to a series of heists involving jeepney passengers along the R-10 Road in Tondo, according to Raxabago police station chief Superintendent Ernesto Tendero Jr.

According to two complainants, the two suspects used fan knives to rob them of their cell phones, jewelry, cash and personal belongings.

Police scoured the area where the suspects reportedly fled. The suspects were arrested, but part of the loot was not recovered. Police believe the suspects passed them on to their cohorts.

At the police station, another robbery victim identified the two as the same men who had robbed her in a passenger jeepney Tuesday night, Tendero said.

“With the arrest of the suspects, I believe we have partially neutralized the gang victimizing jeepney passengers,” Tendero said.
