MANILA, Philippines - A maintenance worker reportedly committed suicide in Pasig City yesterday hours after his wife left him at a height of a bitter quarrel over his alleged womanizing.
The body of the victim, Joel Ferrer, was found by his younger brother, John, hanging from the ceiling, suspended by clothes fashioned into a rope. John had gone to his brother’s house to borrow his motorcycle.
John rushed his brother to the Pasig City General hospital but Ferrer was declared dead on arrival.
Police said Ferrer and his wife, Jacel, had a bitter quarrel at about 9 p.m. Saturday in their house in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
Jacel accused him of having an affair with another woman. Ferrer denied the allegation, but this did not prevented Jacel from leaving and moving back to her parents’ house, also in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
Ferrer was left alone in their house. Prior to the discovery of his body, Ferrer sent a text message to his wife, saying she had judged him too hastily.
The Pasig City police is still trying to determine whether Ferrer committed suicide or not. – Non Alquitran
