Guard stabbed dead

MANILA, Philippines - Manila police are hunting down the killer of a 37-year-old security guard who was found stabbed dead before dawn yesterday near a golf course in Manila.

Investigators said Carlos Sally, of Barangay Inarawan in Antipolo City, sustained a stab wound in the abdomen and died along Bonifacio Drive beside the Intramuros Golf Course.

SPO2 Edmundo Cabal of the Manila Police District homicide section said gasoline station cashier Lito Balbuena was walking home at around 4 a.m. when he discovered Sally’s body.

Balbuena then went to the nearest police community precinct to report.

Homicide investigators are conducting follow-up operations to determine the motive behind the killing. – Edu Punay
