MANILA, Philippines - A monorail system will be built to link the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminal 3 with terminals 1 and 2, and the Manila Domestic Airport.
General manager Alfonso Cusi of the Manila International Airport Authority said yesterday the monorail aims to make it easier for arriving and departing passengers to transit to the different terminals enroute to their destinations.
“This is part of our program to improve airport services through connecting our terminals for easy access for our ridding public,” he said.
At present, the MIAA provides free shuttle bus rides to and from the four terminals.
Assistant manager for corporate affairs Tirso Serrano said the monorail system is estimated to cost P300 million.
Work on the project will start within the year and the monorail will be operational after two years, he added. – Rudy Santos
