MANILA, Philippines - A policeman assigned to escort high-ranking government officials was arrested for making trouble at a videoke bar in Caloocan City Thursday night.
Complainant Teresa Tamura, 34, and neighbors Arjay and Grace Natarte said they were singing using the videoke machine at the Buyong (a Bikol word meaning “drunk”) when Police Officer 2 Rogelio Nalayog stood up and ordered them to stop.
Nalayog, 34, assigned to the Police Security and Protection Office based at Camp Crame, then shouted expletives and reached for a handgun tucked into his waistband.
Tamura and the Natartes sought help from the police. SPO1 Jeffrey Francisco and PO2 Jerry Gamueda of Police Community Precinct 12 in Bagong Silang arrested Nalayog for carrying a loaded 9mm pistol without authority. – Jerry Botial
