An 18-year-old tricycle driver was stabbed dead by another driver after they figured in a heated argument early morning yesterday in Muntinlupa City.
Police Officer 2 Roberto Lanting, officer-on-case, identified the victim as Jefferson Alonso, single and resident of No. 648 Sacristia street, Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa City.
The suspect, Richard Bautista, 26, single, tricycle driver and resident of No. 103 Rizal street, Poblacion, Muntinlupa City, immediately escaped after commission of the crime.
Initial investigation showed that at about 5 a.m., the victim together with three other companions as well as Bautista were eating breakfast at Alonso’s house.
They were engaged in a conversation when suddenly, the victim and the suspect disagreed on something that resulted in a heated argument.
The police said the suspect pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed the victim at the back.
Alonso was brought to the Medical Center of Muntinlupa for treatment but was declared dead around 8:25 a.m. by the attending doctor.
Lanting said they are conducting a follow-up investigation on the incident. – Rhodina Villanueva
