Cargo plane crash-lands at NAIA

-

A six-seater Bonanza Baron cargo plane, loaded with assorted fresh fish from Palawan, had its landing gear collapse when it touched down at Domestic Runway 06 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) yesterday afternoon.

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) assistant general manager Angel Atutubo said no one of its three-man crew, led by Capt. Emanuel Lara, was injured when the incident occurred at around 4:30 p.m.

Firefighters spread chemical foam to prevent any explosion, Atutubo added.

He told NAIA Terminal 1 manager Bing Lina to remove the light plane from the runway as soon as possible so as not to delay other domestic flights.

The runway was closed for 30 minutes, during which the plane was towed off the tarmac. – Rudy Santos
