Three principal suspects in the killing of two sisters in Lucban, Quezon in February 2008 were arrested in San Andres Bukid, Manila Wednesday afternoon.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group director Chief Superintendent Raul Castañeda said the arrest of Augusto Hernandez and his wife, Mary Anne, and Rommel Nanar was part of an intensified campaign against wanted persons.
Castañeda said the three were the subjects of an arrest warrant for allegedly killing sisters Candelaria and Loreto Hernandez last Feb. 25, in their house in Barangay Ayuti.
Castañeda said Augusto, who worked as a telecommunications engineer in Saudi Arabia, is the slain sisters’ uncle. Candelaria and Loreto were known real estate brokers in Quezon.
Senior Superintendent Isagani Nerez, chief of the CIDG-National Capital Region, said the suspects were arrested at their lair on the corner of Oro-A and Augusto Francisco streets.
