Bank employee hangs self

A bank employee reportedly committed suicide by hanging yesterday in Sta. Mesa, Manila due to depression.

Digna Santos, 44, was discovered unconscious by her husband, Rolando, in their second-floor room on Bataan street in Bacood, after he heard a loud thud at around 6 a.m. A black belt was found beside the victim’s body.

Rolando was also treated for hypertension at the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, where he rushed his wife. Police noted welt marks on Digna’s neck.

Digna had been suffering from depression ever since she underwent gall bladder surgery, according to the victim’s sister-in-law, Ofelia. – Nestor Etolle
