PNP executives give grants to shootout victims' kin
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Jesus Verzosa, three other police officials and their wives have pledged to shoulder the educational expenses of the children of a policeman and a civilian killed in a shootout in Parañaque City last Dec. 5.
“We will promise that we will support them by the time they start their elementary education up to the time they finish college,” Verzosa said. “Our requirement is that when they study, they must have no failing grades, just like ordinary scholars.”
The scholarship was granted to the lone child of Special Action Force member Police Officer 1 Nixon Vinasoy and the four children of Ronald Eusebio, an employee of the South Luzon Expressway.
Verzosa, National Capital Regional Police Office chief Director Leopoldo Bataoil, Manila Police District director Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales and Quezon City Police District director Senior Superintendent Magtangol Gatdula and their respective wives signed a memorandum of understanding during a simple ceremony witnessed by the widow and children of Vinasoy and Eusebio at the PNP headquarters.
