2 rob suspects slain in QC

Two suspected robbers were killed during a shootout with Quezon City policemen yesterday afternoon hours after the slain men allegedly victimized an Indian national.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Senior Superintendent Magtanggol Gatdula said they have yet to identify the two suspects but their victim had reportedly pointed to the suspects as the ones who robbed him of his cash worth P2,000, a cellular phone and motorcycle.

Gatdula said they recovered from the suspects’ possession a .38 caliber revolver and a hand grenade.

They also found the motorcycle taken away from Indian national Perptal Singh.

Gatdula said the shootout between the suspects and operatives of the QCPD-Station 3 happened at around 3 p.m. along a dirt road leading to a vacant lot in Barangay Pasong Tamo.

A security guard at the site told reporters the Far Eastern University owned the vacant lot in Pingkian 2.

At around 7 a.m., Singh was driving along Barangay Road in Pasong Tamo when two robbers stopped him and took his money, valuables and motorcycle.

He immediately went to the QCPD-Station 3 to report the incident. According to residents, a number of robberies have occurred in the area. – Reinir Padua
