Man rapes neighbor's daughter

The Manila City prosecutor’s office filed rape charges Friday against a 34-year-old man before the Manila Regional Trial Court for allegedly raping his neighbor’s 14-year-old daughter on four separate occasions two years ago.

Emil Durian, a resident of Baseco Compound in Port Area, was charged with four counts of rape by Assistant City Prosecutor Nestor Gonzales, who recommended that no bail be granted the suspect.

The victim said the first rape allegedly took place on March 30, 2006, when Durian brought her to a hotel near Divisoria, Manila and forced her to have sex with him.

The victim said she told her mother, who assured her that Durian had promised he would marry her.

According to the victim, the succeeding rapes happened from March 31 to April 2, 2006, all in her house. She said that on those three occasions, she saw her mother accepting money from Durian. – Sandy Araneta
