3 of 4 suspects in mother, son killing arrested

- Michael Punongbayan -

Declaring the case as solved, police arrested yesterday three of the four suspects in the killing of a mother and her eight-year-old son in Parañaque on Wednesday.

Aside from robbing and killing the victims, Benedicto Gordo, 58; Reynaldo Sinderijas, 37; and Giovanni Escosa, 21; also confessed to raping Milagros Garduque, 46.

She and her son Yushi were found dead at their house at the United Parañaque Subivision in Barangay San Isidro Thursday morning.

Both were strangled to death by the suspects who had been working for the victims as construction workers for the past few weeks.

Parañaque City police Station Investigation Division chief, Inspector Glen Tigson said his men are now in hunt of a fourth man identified as Eddie Montero.

“At first, we were not sure but after subjecting one of them to tactical interrogation, we were able to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Nagtugma-tugma na,” he told The STAR.

Tigson said the suspects admitted raping the mother as also evidenced by how her pants and underwear were slid down when police found her dead.

Police also managed to recover some P20,000 in cash from the suspects along with assorted jewelry and a Rolex watch believed to be worth millions.

Tigson said criminal charges of robbery with rape and homicide will be filed against all four construction workers before a Parañaque court.

Mayor Florencio Bernabe Jr., meanwhile, lauded the Parañaque City police for solving the crime in less than 24-hours after it was reported.
