Police arrested three teenage boys for stealing a motorcycle and taking it for a joyride in Caloocan City Friday.
The boys, two 15-year-olds and a 13-year-old, were caught at around 11:30 a.m. as they rode past a police community precinct. Lawmen, led by Police Officer 3 Joselito Balagtas, accosted the boys for riding without a helmet.
When asked to show the ownership papers for the motorcycle and a driver’s license, the boys failed to produce any, prompting the police to arrest them.
During investigation, the police found out the gray motorcycle (TJ-7660) they seized from the boys belonged to Warwinshire Sy, 36, a resident of 10th Avenue. The boys admitted taking the motorcycle, which was parked in front of the victim’s house.
The boys were turned over to the local social welfare office after they were charged with car theft and violating traffic laws before the office of assistant city prosecutor Manuel Guiyab.
Guiyab ordered the social welfare office to submit its report and recommendation on the case “for further inquest proceedings.” – Pete Laude
