Businesswoman, ex-seaman slain in Muntinlupa

A businesswoman and a 36-year-old man were shot dead by two unidentified suspects, reportedly members of a robbery group, in Muntinlupa City Thursday night.

According to the police, businesswoman Marivic de Mesa and her 17-year-old son were on their way home on a motorcycle when they dropped by a store along Ilaya street in Barangay Alabang at around 6:30 p.m. Two men appeared and announced a robbery.

De Mesa ran but the suspects chased her and shot her several times when she tripped and fell. At this point, former seaman Jerry Igot passed by the area, riding a motorcycle. The suspects shot him as well.    – Rhodina Villanueva
