Revillame housemaid now focus of probe
A housemaid earlier considered as a possible witness in the investigation into the burglary at the house of television host Willie Revillame is now also a focus of the probe.
Superintendent Franklin Moises Mabanag, chief of the Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said they found a sketch of Revillame’s house that house helper Edna Pasague admitted she did.
Investigator SPO1 Leo Tabuena said they found the sketch dumped in a trash can in the kitchen of the house. When asked why she did the sketch, Pasague said it was for no apparent reason, Mabanag said.
Mabanag also said Pasague was “a little bit uneasy” when brought in by the police for questioning.
“I noticed that she was jittery when we were talking with her,” Mabanag told reporters in an interview. Pasague earlier appeared as a witness after she helped investigators locate fellow maid Andresa Wenceslao and the latter’s boyfriend Danny Pacampang.
Wenceslao and Pacampang were arrested and tagged as suspects in the crime. Wenceslao was initially hunted down by the police after she failed to report on Monday. The two, however, were released for lack of stronger evidence to pin them down. Both, just like Pasague, did not have the keys to the rooms ransacked during the burglary. Mabanag admitted they were not able to intensely grill Pasague because they were initially focused on Wenceslao and Pacampang.
Chief Inspector Enrico Figueroa, chief of QCPD-CIDU’s Theft and Robbery Investigation, said they initially scheduled the polygraph tests for Pasague and Wenceslao tomorrow. He said the results could be out after a week.
The break-in at the house in Corinthian Hills Subdivision in Barangay Ugong Norte was discovered at around 4 a.m. Monday by Revillame after he came back from an out-of-town trip. He had been out of the house since Saturday afternoon. Three rooms in the house were ransacked by the suspects, who took away valuables that included jewelry and high-end wristwatches worth around P3 million.
Wenceslao and Pasague were alternating in manning the house when Revillame was away.
Wenceslao was on duty from Saturday morning until the next morning. But she momentarily left the house 10 a.m. Saturday to join Revillame to an out-of-town trip to Tagaytay. She was brought back to the house by Revillame at 4 p.m. the same day before he left again.
