Woman, 68, charged for selling shabu

-

The Manila City Prosecutor’s Office yesterday filed criminal charges before the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) against a 68-year-old woman who was arrested for allegedly selling methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.

Assistant City Prosecutor Gil Mendoza charged Estrelita Cunanan with violating Sections 5 and 11, Article 2 of Republic Act 9165, the comprehensive dangerous drugs law and recommended no bail be granted to Cunanan.

Records said Cunanan was arrested by the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 10 police officers last Oct. 14 while selling P500 worth of shabu.

Cunanan was also found in possession of 0.010 grams of shabu when she was arrested.

The buy-bust was set up in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) following reports of rampant sales of dangerous drugs in Kahilum 1, Pandacan, where Cunanan lived.     – Sandy Araneta
